NPRAG TO STAGE COMMUNITY MARCH
DOWNLOAD THE FLYER HERE AND SEND IT TO EVERYONE TODAY
NPRAG will be holding the biggest rally Parramatta has ever seen on Sunday, 5th
JUNE 2016.
Enough is Enough! Its time to tell the State Government to get their hands off Parramatta’s public assets and support the Greenban placed by the CMFEU on our heritage precinct.
A Call to Arms is going out to all schools, sporting clubs, community groups suffering the same treatment by the State Government . Its time to ACT AS ONE and SHOW OUR MASSIVE DISAPPROVAL of the GOVERNMENT’S VANDALISM OF OUR COMMUNITY ASSETS.
We need EVERY SINGLE MEMBER to join the Rally and bring your family, friends and neighbours along.
The Rally will commence at 11.00am at the Pirketk Stadium Carpark at the northern end of Parramatta Pool and proceed along O’Connell Street, turning down Fennel Street and congregating at the Sporting Oval of the Cumberland Hospital in Fleet Street.
Wear comfortable shoes, and bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the speeches by Community Leaders and a very Special Guest as well as an indigenous cultural performance.
This is our LAST CHANCE to STOP the BULLDOZERS on PARRAMATTA POOL and FLEET STREET PRECINCT!
BANNERS, PLACARDS, POSTERS
So starting making those placards and banners and we will see you at the RALLY! We would love everyone to accessorize with floaties, life jackets, a lilo under your arm as we march from the pool to the precinct! Start working on your banners and placards now. Be creative – you could use such slogan as
SAVE OUR POOL

North Parramatta Residents Action Group presents
TO NEW SHORES- A TALE OF CONVICT PARRAMATTA
Nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 1937 Venice Film Festival
Like a plot from a Coen Brothers movie, the making of Third Reich era German film Zu neuen Ufern (To New Shores) is a bizarre story in itself. Produced by German film studios in 1937, the story tells of an 1840s English woman wrongly convicted of forgery and transported across the globe to the Parramatta Female Factory.
Portrayed by Swedish actress Zarah Leander, Gloria – who had been a singer in London – must now endure the consequences of her wrongful seven year sentencing to the colonies. Filled with betrayal, heartbreak and perseverance, the film embodies the struggle of many women inside the walls of the Parramatta Female Factory.
Join NPRAG.org, Professor Carol Liston (Western Sydney University) and James Findlay (University of Sydney) for a talk and screening of this fascinating collision of Parramatta’s colonial past and Germany’s pre-war cultural machine. This film highlights the importance of Parramatta Female Factory’s application for National Heritage Listing.
